Hypothalamic Amenorrhea (HA) & Period Recovery Support

If you’ve lost your period due to under-fuelling, stress, or exercise or you’ve been diagnosed with hypothalamic amenorrhea (HA), this 1:1 support is designed to help you get your period back and support long-term cycle health.

I work with women recovering from HA and eating disorders to restore energy availability, support hormone health, and rebuild a consistent menstrual cycle, without dieting, restriction, or fear-based approaches.

This is evidence-based dietetic care focused on sustainable period recovery, not quick fixes.

  • Working with Christina has been a game-changer for me. She takes the time to truly listen and ensures we address any worries I have. Every session leaves me feeling supported and equipped with a clear plan to navigate the week ahead. Her guidance in challenging intrusive eating disorder thoughts and behaviours has been invaluable. I finally feel like I have someone in my corner helping me make meaningful progress.

  • Hand on heart, I know that without working with Christina this year and having her support, my end of the year would have looked a lot different. I wouldn't have finished placement, and I might have ended up in the hospital. I thank Christina for all her time, energy, and passion—she’s been a huge blessing in my year. She has played such a big part in my recovery, and I’m so grateful to be here with my daughter and family for Christmas. It hasn’t been easy, and there’s still a long journey ahead, but I can't thank her enough for guiding me through recovery.

  • I suffered with poor gut health and bloating for years after picking up a parasite overseas. I tried everything to fix it but nothing worked. When I started working with Christina I saw immediate symptom relief and feel so much lighter in my body. I feel like my life is back and I don't have to fear food all the time.

    Susie

  • I wanted to see a dietitian that was passionate about a healthy relationship with food not just what is considered the best food to eat. I was wanting to heal my relationship with food, find the best nutrition for my body helping/healing a few medical conditions and to feel comfortable while doing that. Working with Christina enabled me to do all of that. She was so understanding, and I felt listened to. She offered flexibility around my busy life as a shift worker and there was no barriers having our appointments over zoom. She was so thorough as well looking at a variety of lifestyle stuff and working with me on medical conditions as well when I had other doctors’ appointments. I noticed changes in my relationship with food, reduced binge eating and guilt around food groups. I was able to narrow down foods that were upsetting my gut and therefore helped reduce bad cramps and stomach upsets. Overall, such a positive experience and so valuable to my overall health journey.

  • Working with Christina has been a life-changing experience! Today marks 6 months binge-free, which is something I never thought was possible. My goal was to be binge-free by the end of the year, and thanks to Christina’s unwavering support and encouragement, I’ve already reached it. I’m so grateful for her guidance and the empowerment I feel in my journey!

    Briana

  • I couldn't recommend Christina's services enough, every time I finish on a call I feel more inspired, educated and ready to take action. She takes the time to meet me where I am and doesn't make anything too confusing or too hard follow.

    Melissa

  • Working with Christina has shown me how to nourish my body and mind without restrictions. I’ve got my life back—my energy is up, and I feel so much more confident in my body. I’m beyond grateful for her support in helping me get here!

  • Christina opened my eyes to a whole different side of recovery that I did not even realise. She not only helped to get my eating enough, but the stuff that no one else was teaching me. How to actually cope with the thoughts and feelings that come up as a result of going against everything my brain was saying. She taught me how to regulate my nervous system and gave me so many valuable tools that helped me to break the cycle of giving up every time I got a negative thought or things got hard. Christina changed my life and I am forever grateful for my work with her.

Period recovery isn't a one-off fix — it takes consistent support as your body adjusts and your cycle responds. This is the package most clients choose because it gives you enough time and touch points to actually see your period return and stay regular.

The 3 month package is the one Christina recommends for most clients starting HA or period recovery.

After purchasing any package, you'll be able to book your initial appointment and use your package code to schedule your follow-up sessions.

FAQs

How long does recovery usually take?

1

his varies from person to person and depends on how long your period has been absent, your current energy availability, and your recovery history. Many clients see meaningful progress within 2–3 months of consistent support, which is why the 3-Month Package is the most commonly recommended starting point.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

2

No referral is required to book a consultation, though if you have a GP or specialist involved in your care, Christina is happy to work alongside them.

Is this covered by Medicare or private health insurance?

3

Medicare rebates are available if you have an Eating Disorder Management Plan (EDMP) or GP Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) from your doctor. Private health rebates may also be available depending on your fund and level of cover — check with your provider to confirm your eligibility.

What if I've already tried "eating more" and nothing happened?

4

This is really common. Often it's not about eating more in general, but about the specific amount, consistency, and timing your body needs plus addressing the stress and exercise factors keeping your body in a "not safe to menstruate" state. This is exactly what 1:1 support is designed to work through with you.

Do sessions happen online or in person?

5

Sessions are held online via Zoom, so you can access support from anywhere. If you can't find a time that works for you, send an email and Christina will look at a time that suits.

What happens after I purchase a package?

6

You'll be able to book your initial appointment straight away, and you'll receive a package code to schedule your follow-up sessions as you go.
